Atomic aka "Acid Trip" Tomatoes start solid purple on the vine, developing deep green stripes mid-stage that mingle with red and yellow patterns as they fully ripen. Cooler weather causes more purples and greens to appear but either season produces a deliciously complex balance of sweet, acidic, and vegetal flavors in a tender, soft skinned tomato with texture halfway between mealy and buttery.
Quick tip for use:
Acid Trip tomatoes' wide spectrum of flavors is best experienced when eaten simply sliced in half. They hold well to roasting because of their density, but will develop a stronger tartness.
